Blasting Room

Blasting room is a system used for sandblasting very large, heavy and detailed parts that cannot fit into automatic sandblasting machines. The parts in this machine are sandblasted manually. System forms a unit with sandblasting room, recycling unit, ventilation and filter, pressure sandblasting machine and screw compressor. In the Sandblasting Chamber, abrasive material is reused reversibly. It is generally used in the Defense Industry, Automotive Industry and Metal Industry.

Blasting Room

Shot Blasting Room (also called a Blast Room or Abrasive Blasting Room) is a controlled environment designed for cleaning, preparing, or finishing metal and other surfaces using abrasive materials propelled at high speed.

What It Is?

A Shot Blasting Room is an enclosed chamber where abrasive blasting (commonly using steel shots, grits, or sand) is performed. It’s used to remove rust, paint, scale, and other surface contaminants or to prepare surfaces for coating, painting, or welding.

⚙️ Key Components

  1. Blasting Chamber:

    • The enclosed area where the blasting takes place.

    • Made of heavy-duty steel with wear-resistant liners.

  2. Abrasive Recovery System:

    • Collects used abrasive from the floor via mechanical (scraper conveyor) or pneumatic systems.

    • Cleans and recycles usable media.

  3. Dust Collection System:

    • Keeps the air clean by capturing fine dust and debris.

    • Ensures visibility and worker safety.

  4. Blast Machine & Nozzle:

    • Pressurizes and directs the abrasive media onto the workpiece.

  5. Lighting & Ventilation:

    • Bright, dust-proof lighting ensures good visibility.

    • Proper ventilation removes contaminants and maintains air quality.

  6. Operator Safety Gear:

    • Includes blast suits, helmets with air supply, gloves, and ear protection.

Applications

  • Surface preparation before coating or painting.

  • Rust and scale removal from castings, forgings, and fabricated parts.

  • Cleaning weld seams and removing burrs.

  • Peening to improve metal fatigue strength.

Industries:

  • Automotive

  • Shipbuilding

  • Aerospace

  • Foundries & Steel Fabrication

  • Construction Equipment Manufacturing

Advantages

  • Efficient cleaning and surface preparation.

  • Recyclable abrasives reduce operational cost.

  • Controlled environment ensures consistent quality.

  • Safe and eco-friendly compared to open blasting.
